The suite at Shayamoya Tiger Fishing And Game Lodge was absolutely delightful. The spaciousness and the amazing air conditioning made me feel so comfortable throughout my stay. And let me tell you, the view of Lake Jozini from the room was simply breathtaking. Oh, and the Kingsize extra length bed was like sleeping on a cloud. As a traveler who values relaxation and tranquility, this room was everything I could have asked for.
I personally found the lighting in the room a bit dim, but hey, that's just my opinion. Others may actually find it cozy and romantic.

What a delight it was to stay at Shayamoya! From the moment I arrived, I felt like a welcomed family member. The remote thatched lodge, perched high on the ridge, offered breathtaking views of the lake and countryside. The African-inspired lodge had a cozy 4 poster bed with nets, a separate bathroom, and a secluded outdoor shower. The friendly staff, delicious food, and range of activities made my stay truly memorable. Thank you, Shayamoya, for a wonderful experience!
I do recommend this hotel.

We had an amazing stay at Shayamoya! the staff were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. the rooms were beautifully designed with breathtaking views, and the food, especially the braai, was absolutely delicious. the highlight of our trip was definitely the Tiger Fishing, even though it was unfortunately cut short by the weather. the wildlife sightings, particularly the rhinos and birdlife, were also impressive. the activities offered were varied and well-priced. We can't wait for our next visit!
It was all superb! 😊.

A truly unique bush lodge in Northern KwaZulu Natal, Shayamoya offers a spectacular setting with breathtaking views of Lake Jozini, the Lebombo Mountains, and the Pongola Game Reserves. We enjoyed spending time on the large wooden deck of the central lodge, where the view served as a stunning backdrop for our family gatherings. The lodge's speciality fishing areas provided non-stop action for the angler in our family, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to fight and release some impressive catches. The chance to see hippo and crocodile at the water's edge added an exciting perspective to our game viewing experiences. Shayamoya offered us an unforgettable family adventure in the heart of the bush.
For dads, it would be great to have more organized outdoor activities specifically catered to families with children.

I always stay at this place. Staff gave me a local food delivery number. It has everything I need: free Wi-Fi, valet parking, AC, flat-screen TV, laundry. Coming back for Christmas!

I mean, we could see the Lebombo Mountains, Lake Jozini, AND the Pongola Game Reserve all at once. It was like a freakin' postcard, man. And the fishing spots were epic! We had non-stop action with this vertical jigging and drop shot fishing thing. We even caught a freakin' giant Sail Fish, dude!
The only thing that could've been better is if they had more party activities for us young folks. I mean, don't get me wrong, the lodge was super chill and all, but we were craving some real fun, you know?

The view from the mountain top was jaw-dropping, overlooking the Swazi border and beautiful Jozini Lake. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, especially receptionist Nomvula and management support Bev. The property was clean and exactly as shown in the pictures. The food was scrumptious and the spa experience was pure bliss. The game drive with Maxwell was amazing, and the staff at the buffet were always welcoming and helpful. The outdoor shower in the room was a delightful experience and the boat cruise allowed us to see a variety of wildlife including giraffes, rhinos, and hippos. a luxury countryside experience that I highly recommend.

The moment I stepped into Shayamoya Tiger Fishing And Game Lodge, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the friendly staff. The lodge's beautiful setting, even with the low water level, left me in awe. It was a delight to explore the lodge and be surrounded by nature. Despite the boat being a bit dated, the general areas were still comfortable and accessible, which was ideal for a senior woman like myself.
The only thing I would ask for to make the vacation even better for senior people is a bit more assistance from the children working there. Sometimes their grumpiness and lack of willingness to go the extra mile were a bit discouraging.

The lodge is situated in a beautiful setting surrounded by lush vegetation and stunning views of the lake. The rooms are spacious and offer a perfect view of the dam, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets right from your bed. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel comfortable and welcome throughout your stay. The food is exceptional, with beautifully executed meat and seafood dishes. The lodge also offers boat cruises and rhino tracking for an added adventure.
The sound system on the houseboat could use an upgrade, as some guests mentioned that it did not work properly.
